Serving

Bill Hybels writes in his book "The Volunteer Revolution"

"Every local churchgoer has a choice to make. He can park in his usual spot in the church parking lot, make his way to a comfortable seat in a favourite row, watch a good service, chat with friends, and then go home. That choice makes for a nice, safe Sunday morning experience. Or he can throw himself into an adventure by rolling up his sleeves, joining a team of like-minded servants, and helping to build the local church God has called him to be a part of.”

Serving other people is a form of worship to God. He takes great pleasure in our service, which means that so do we. Serving means joining Jesus on his mission, and it does us good in the process as we deepen friendships our sense of belonging to one another. Like any muscle of the body, the more you serve, the stronger your gifting will grow. The Christian life was never meant to be a spectator sport.

Everyone has a contribution to make to our life as a church, so would you consider volunteering for any of the following:-

  • Children's Work
  • Youth Work
  • Sunday Hosting
  • Sunday Logistics
  • Prayer Clinic
  • Twiglets (parent & toddler group)
  • Acorn (over 60s lunch club)
  • Worship bands
  • PA, sound and multi-media team
  • Alpha
