Freedom in Christ
Freedom in Christ is a 10 week discipleship course that helps every Christian take hold of the truth of who they are in Christ, resolve personal and spiritual conflicts and become a fruitful disciple. The course is suitable for both new and mature Christians. It is essentially biblical truth in a very helpful package and built on the principle that: “You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32).
What will the course cover?
The course has four main sections:
Key Truths: Jesus said that we will know the truth and the truth will set us free! The first sessions look at some of the key truths we need to know about what it means to be a Christian. Sessions cover: Where did I come from? Who am I now? Choosing to believe the truth.
The World, the Flesh and the Devil: Every day we struggle against three things that conspire to push us away from truth. Understanding how the world, the flesh and the devil work will enable us to renew our minds and stand firm. Sessions cover: The world’s view of the truth, our daily choice, demolishing strongholds, the battle of our minds.
Breaking the Hold of the Past: God does not change our past but by His grace He enables us to walk free of it. This section of the course looks at how we can take hold of what Christ has done for us in order to do just that. Sessions cover: Handling emotions well and forgiving from the heart.
This section includes a day apart where we go through “The Steps To Freedom In Christ”.
Growing as Disciples: We will learn how to stand firm, how to relate to other people and how to stay on the path of becoming more like Jesus. Sessions cover: Walking in freedom every day, relating to others, where are you heading? and staying on the right path.

When is the course?
The course will run every Thursday for 10 weeks starting on Thursday, 26th January 2012. The evening starts at 7.45pm to 9.45pm. After each talk there will be a small discussion group, where refreshments will be provided.
There will be a day apart held on Saturday, 17th March 2012.
How much does it cost?
The course costs £20 per person, which includes all workbooks, refreshments and day apart.
